- When you hire Just Lawns 4u for goatscaping, we’ll take care of everything needed to get our goats chowing down on the invasive and nuisance plants on your property. Our set up Includes: 100 feet of solar fencing
- Moving, cutting, trimming in order to place the fence
- Setting up fence, shelter, and water for goats
- Delivering the goats, checking on the goats daily, and picking them up after they’ve finished
Goats rid your property of invasive plants naturally. When these plants do grow back, they grow back less thick.
Uneven and steep terrain is no problem for goats! They’re able to eat many different kinds of vegetation.
Goatscaping means no special equipment is needed to clear even the thickest areas of your property.
- 2 goat minimum for a minimum of 4 weeks
- *Goats are gregarious herd animals who require the presence of at least one companion
If there is any Mountain Laurel or Nightshade present, we will not set up in these areas as these plants are poisonous to goats.
*For every 100 feet over the first 100 feet there is an additional setup charge.
HOW MUCH CAN GOATS DO?
Goats can clean up to ½ of one-third of an acre per week (depending on vegetation). A higher number of goats on your property at the same time can improve the rate at which they clear your land.
DO GOATS MAKE A MESS?
Nope! Goats will only eat the vegetation in the area where they are enclosed, their droppings don’t stink (in fact, they add vital nutrients to the soil), and they don’t dig or damage your property.
ARE GOATS AN ALTERNATIVE TO LAWN MOWING?
Not really. Goatscaping is perfect if you have areas of your property that are overgrown or are on tough terrain. They could “mow” your lawn, but because they pull many plants out by the roots, you wouldn’t have much of a yard left. We do offer lawn mowing services if you want someone to take care of your lawn for you, though!
Four-foot high, solar-powered electric fencing is used to keep the goats on the property. Its purpose is to keep predators like coyotes and stray dogs from harming the livestock. The electric current of the fence is the same voltage output as an invisible dog fence. It will give a brief, unpleasant zap, but will not injure anyone, including children or seniors.
We provide a shelter for the goats where they can stay at night or during a rainstorm.
Goats are herd animals, which means they require a companion to live happily. They are naturally friendly and gregarious and all of our goats extremely friendly and comfortable being around people.
